Saving clients to your phone’s contacts

Every client is saved automatically to your phone’s contacts and kept up to date — so you know who’s calling or messaging on WhatsApp. Set it up on each phone, on the Pro plan.

This is done in the Bookly app on your phone. The steps here are the app's.

Bookly saves the business’s clients to your phone’s contacts: a new client is saved by itself, and a change of name or phone is updated. So when a client calls or writes on WhatsApp, you see who it is.

  1. Open the screen

    ManageClient toolsContacts
  2. Turn on “Automatic saving” and allow access to your contacts.

  3. Want to update everyone right now? “Full sync now”.

It’s best to allow full access to your contacts. With partial access, new clients are saved, but Bookly can’t see contacts you didn’t share — and duplicates may appear.

What the contact holds

The client’s name with a mark showing they’re a client, the business’s name as the company, the phone as mobile, and a link to the client card in Bookly. A contact you saved yourself isn’t changed — it just gets the link to Bookly.

On iPhone, clients also go into a Bookly group, when the account on the iPhone supports groups (iCloud).

Turning it off and removing contacts

Turning saving off deletes, after you confirm, the contacts Bookly created on the phone; from contacts you saved yourself, only the Bookly link is removed. “Remove contacts saved by Bookly” does the same. A client deleted in Bookly stays in your contacts, and a contact you deleted from the phone comes back only with a full sync.

Do I need to turn it on on every phone?

Yes — contacts belong to the phone, so each team member turns saving on on their own phone.

What happens when the business is no longer on Pro?

Saving pauses. Contacts already saved stay on the phone.

Does it work on the website too?

No — it exists only in the app, because the contacts live on the phone.
