Switching from Google Calendar? All your clients and appointments come with you
Export your data from Google Calendar, upload it to Bookly, and that's it: your clients, upcoming appointments and visit history. No retyping, and no giving us a password to another system. Switching is free.
How to switch
1. Export from Google Calendar
- For a system with no export that syncs appointments to Google Calendar, like most systems in Israel.
- In Google Calendar on a computer: Settings ← “Import & export” ← “Export”. A zip file downloads with a file for each calendar.
- Upload the zip file here, or just the calendar file (ics) where the previous system put the appointments. A file from Apple Calendar works too.
- An appointment with a phone number (in the title or description) is imported with the client. An appointment without a phone is matched to a client by name, so it's best to import the client list first.
2. Upload to Bookly
We detect the file's columns automatically, match staff and services, and show you everything before importing. Past appointments are saved in the client's record, and upcoming ones go into your calendar.3. Switch day
Turn off booking in Google Calendar, share your new link, and turn on reminders in Bookly. Until then your clients get no messages from us.
Important: export before you cancel your Google Calendar subscription. In many systems, cancelling deletes your data.
Want us to do it for you?
Send the export file from your business email to [email protected], and we'll import it for you, free. The file is used only for the import and deleted once you confirm everything came through.
FAQ
- Will my clients be notified about the switch?
- Not from us. No message is sent during the import, and you share the new link whenever it suits you.
- What about appointments already booked?
- They go into your Bookly calendar. Their reminders only start once you turn them on on switch day, so clients don't get every reminder twice.
- My system has no export. What do I do?
- The import has a ready-made letter asking your old system for your data. If that system syncs appointments to Google Calendar, you can bring them in from there too.
- And if something didn't come through right?
- You can undo an import within 14 days and import again. Re-importing the same file doesn't duplicate appointments.
- How much does it cost?
- Switching is free. Bookly starts with 60 days free with every feature, no credit card — and after that you pay only if you continue, for the plan you choose.
