Calendar sync: Google and your phone’s calendar
Your appointments in Google Calendar or your phone’s calendar, and private events there blocking booking hours — no details shown to clients. Each staff member connects their own.
Sync works both ways. Your appointments go into your personal calendar — Google Calendar, or the calendar on your phone, Mac or Outlook — and update by themselves. In the other direction, a private event in your personal calendar (a meeting, a vacation) blocks that time, and it isn’t offered to clients. Bookly reads only when you’re busy — no titles, attendees or details.
Each staff member connects their own calendar, from their own account, and their appointments go into it. To connect one you need a personal calendar in the business — that is, to be on the team list. The owner and managers see who on the team is connected, and can disconnect.
Google Calendar
Open the screen
CalendarCalendar syncChoose “Connect Google Calendar” and approve in your Google account.
Leave “Google Calendar events block hours” on — or turn it off if you only want appointments to go into Google.
A new appointment, a move or a cancellation reaches Google Calendar within seconds, with the service, the client’s name and phone, the notes and a link to the appointment. One awaiting confirmation is marked ⏳. A new event in Google blocks hours within about ten minutes.
Below the calendar there’s also a “Calendar sync” strip that shows whether Google and the iPhone calendar are connected — and you can connect straight from it.
iPhone, Mac and Outlook calendar
On the same screen, in the “iPhone, Mac and Outlook calendar” card, click “Create a calendar link”.
On the device where you want the appointments, click “Open in calendar” — or “Copy link” and add it in your calendar as a subscription, usually via adding a calendar from a URL.
Add it once, and it keeps itself up to date.
Creating a new calendar link? The old one stops working, and you have to add the calendar again on every device.
The guided tour is in the app
In the “Calendar sync” chapter, the tour shows this on the screen itself, step by step.
An event from my private calendar shows in Bookly’s calendar — how do I remove it?
It shows as blocked time, read-only. Change or delete it in your own calendar, and it updates here by itself.
Can clients see my private calendar?
No. Bookly knows only when you’re busy, with no titles or details, and simply doesn’t offer those times.
It says the Google connection was lost — what do I do?
Click the notice at the top of the calendar, or go to calendar sync, and reconnect. Until then, appointments don’t reach Google.
What happens when I disconnect?
New appointments no longer go into that calendar, and its events no longer block hours. What’s already in it stays.
