Music on the screen and a remote on your phone
Background music from YouTube or Apple Music on the business’s TV, with a remote on your phone or the website: play, pause, next song, volume and changing the playlist.
On the Pro plan every screen can play background music: a video or playlist on YouTube, or a playlist, album, station or song on Apple Music. A screen with the “Music” module shows the player in its zone; without it, a small player appears in a corner.
What plays where
YouTube plays on Android TV and in the TV’s browser. Apple Music plays only in the Bookly app on Apple TV, with an Apple Music subscription signed in there. When the music doesn’t suit the TV connected to the screen, the editor warns you.
The licence to play music in your business is the business’s responsibility. Apple Music’s terms are for personal use.
Choosing music
Open the screens
Screens in your businessOpen the screen’s editor and choose “Background music”.
Paste a link to a YouTube playlist or video, or an Apple Music link.
Set the volume and whether to shuffle, then send: “Send to screen”.
A private playlist doesn’t play on the TV — set it to “Unlisted” on YouTube.
A single song doesn’t loop: when it ends, similar songs play on by themselves, as on YouTube (on Apple TV, the song’s station). Want the same song again and again? Turn on “Repeat the song”.
My library
Songs and playlists you like are saved in “My library”, with their name and picture, and play on the TV with one tap from the remote. No YouTube account to connect and no search: paste a link in the remote (“Play on the TV” or “Add to library”), or share straight from the app.
The remote
While the TV plays, the remote gives you play and pause, the previous and next song, volume and changing the playlist, and shows what played recently. The TV responds within a few seconds. On Apple TV, change the volume with the Apple TV remote.
Open the screens
Screens in your businessNext to the screen, click “Remote”. While music plays, a small floating player also appears in a corner of the website.
Why is there no volume control?
On Apple TV the volume belongs to the TV itself — change it with the Apple TV remote.
Does the music stop at night?
Yes. When the screen rests outside opening hours, the music stops too.
