WhatsApp reminders and how to stop them
After you book, a WhatsApp message arrives, and before the visit a reminder with buttons to confirm you’re coming, reschedule or cancel. Turn them off in your profile.
On the business’s behalf, Bookly sends WhatsApp messages about your appointments: when it’s booked (or when the business accepts a request), a reminder before it, and an update if it moves or is cancelled. Some businesses ask for a short review after the visit.
The business decides when the reminder goes out. It has three buttons: “I’m coming”, “Change time” and “Cancel”. Messages arrive in your language.
Some businesses send a second reminder, and if WhatsApp isn’t delivered, an SMS.
Stopping appointment messages
In your account area, open “Profile”, and under “Notifications” turn off “Confirmations and reminders on WhatsApp”.
With the switch off, you also won’t get WhatsApp messages when an appointment is booked, moved or cancelled. In the app, you still get a notification before each appointment.
Messages about offers
Messages about offers and deals from businesses go only to people who agreed to them in their profile. Every advertising message is marked as such, and replying “STOP” ends offers from every business — appointment reminders keep coming.
The guided tour is in the app
In the “Notifications and WhatsApp” chapter, the tour shows this on the screen itself, step by step.
Can I choose when the reminder arrives?
No — the business sets the time. You can only turn the messages off.
I got a message about an appointment I didn’t book
Someone probably booked with your number. You can cancel through the link in the message, or write to the business.
