Shabbat-observant business

Turn on “Shabbat-observant business”: booking closes from the start of Shabbat and holidays until they end, by your city’s times, and Friday bookings end before candle lighting.

Guide forComputerPhone

A Shabbat-observant business is closed to bookings on Shabbat and holidays. The opening hours you set don’t change — Bookly only shortens them by the Hebrew calendar and the times at the business’s location, and it updates by itself every week.

What it changes

On Shabbat and holidays, nothing can be booked from the start of Shabbat or the holiday until it ends. On Fridays and holiday eves, clients can book only appointments that end half an hour before candle lighting. The business page and search show a “Shabbat observant” tag.

Want to open after Shabbat ends on Saturday night? Leave Saturday open in your opening hours, and appointments open only after Shabbat is out.

  1. In the “Business opening hours” card, click “Edit hours”.

  2. Turn on “Shabbat-observant business”. Saturday closes automatically — you can open it again for Saturday-night hours.

  3. Click “Save”.

The switch is in the business’s opening hours and in the setup questionnaire, at the opening-hours step — on the website and in the app. It’s one setting of the business: what you mark in one place applies to booking everywhere.

At a branch whose hours are synced with the main business, edit the hours and the switch there — or detach the hours at the branch to give it its own hours and Shabbat switch.

How do clients see it on the business page?

In the opening hours, Friday shows “until Shabbat begins” and Saturday shows closed, with the “Shabbat observant” tag next to the hours.

Which place are the times calculated for?

By the business’s location, so the times shift by themselves with the seasons.
